Dune Distilling minis gift pack
Margaret River’s award-winning Dune Distilling Co. has launched a new limited-edition gin just in time for summer – Rhubarb and Hibiscus.
This is Dune Distilling Co’s third release since its Signature Gin launched in November 2019. The Signature was recently awarded one of only two gold medals for gin at the 2020 Perth Royal Show Distilled Spirits Awards.
Also winning is Perth artist Rina Bhabra whose artwork, Quokka, was selected as part of Dune Distilling Co’s emerging artist competition. Her artwork is featured on the Rhubarb and Hibiscus gin label.
Rina’s work depicts the world’s happiest animal in her signature vibrant style. Happiness is a theme for her art, following some personal health challenges and a childhood in Kenya where she developed a passion for animals and colour.
“My artwork selected for the new Dune Distilling gin label is a reflection of this great adventure we call life. The label is intended to capture imagination and create joy,” she said.
Rina won a $500 cash prize and her artwork was selected from an array of amazing art entered by West Australian emerging artists. Dune Distilling Marketing Manager Jo Tate said the quality submitted was breathtaking, and they were overwhelmed by the talent of local artists.
“It was an extremely hard decision to make,” Jo said. “In fact, we ended up choosing three art pieces, two of which will be used for our Christmas release gins.”
Dune Distilling’s Rhubarb and Hibiscus gin (RRP A$85) is pink in colour thanks to the hibiscus, and also includes distillations of juniper, coriander, rhubarb and thyme. It is produced by the coast in the pristine Margaret River region.
Jo’s serving suggestion is simple… ”in a gorgeous glass poured over cubes of ice, mixed with Capi Yuzu Tonic or Dry Tonic”.
Rhubarb and Hibiscus gin is available now online from dunedistillingco.com.au or from the cellar door at 3517 Caves Road Wilyabrup. It will also be available in gift packs in time for Christmas along with Dune Distilling’s two new Christmas gins.
