For 30 years Janine Pittaway has provided effective and practical marketing communications for businesses across Australia.

From strategic communications planning to brand building, media relations and publicity, content creation, community relations, and issues and crisis communications, Janine works as an extension of your organisation creating meaningful communications to reach your target audience.

West Australian born and bred, Janine understands WA’s cultural and media landscape.

She’s been privileged to work on some of WA’s most significant sporting and cultural events, alongside Tourism Western Australia, Department of Premier and Cabinet, local government agencies and significant event stakeholders.

Janine’s career highlights include managing Emirates’ Perth inaugural flight celebrations and ongoing Australian expansion; national PR campaigns for Perth’s premiere international golf tournaments; event managing the official launch of the Boddington Gold Mine (winner in the Corporate Events category of the 2010 Australian Event Awards); coordinating community relations for the Red Bull Air Races in Perth; emergency communications and stakeholder communications for the Great Aussie BBQ for The Queen as part of CHOGM; managing publicity and the media centre for the ANZAC Albany commemorations; achieving a Guinness World Records title for the Largest cheese tasting event at a single location for Margaret River Dairy; and managing PR for Rottnest Island’s glamping accommodation from a developer’s dream to official opening as Discovery Rottnest Island.

Bright Communications was established by Janine 14 years ago and provides clients with results-driven public relations services.

Current and recent Bright clients include Tourism Western Australia, Red Bull Australia, Seashells Hospitality Group (marking 13 years working together in 2022), City of Busselton, Rottnest Island Authority, Rottnest Express, Rottnest Fast Ferries, IMG, Discovery Holiday Parks, Capecare, Busselton Hospice Care Inc, Private Properties, Black Brewing Co, Premium Publishing, Writing WA, RSL WA, Howard Park Winery, and Leeuwin Estate Winery.

Western Australia Gourmet Escape, Margaret River Region Open Studios, Jazz by the Bay, Red Bull Lighthouse to Leighton, Kimberley Writers Festival, and Leeuwin Estate’s concerts have benefitted from Janine’s expertise.

In addition to working in tourism and major events, Janine also has extensive experience in leading PR consultancies, government and the not-for-profit sector.

Writing is part of Janine’s DNA and she regularly contributes stories to the quarterly Tales and Trails magazine for Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association, Fabric Quarterly Magazine and is an occational reviewer for High Tea Society.

Janine holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and public relations from Curtin University. For several years she sat on the Murdoch University School of Public Relations Industry Advisory Committee, is a past board member of the Perth Regional Tourism Organisation (Experience Perth), is a member of the Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association and Australia’s South West, and is a past judge of the WA Tourism Awards. She also provides pro bono communications counsel to the Yallingup Bushfire Ready Group.

Rosie Harrison

An experienced PR and brand communications consultant, Sam has two decades’ experience providing strategic communications counsel to some of Australia’s most progressive organisations and the globe’s most recognised brands.

Janine and Sam have worked together on some of Western Australia’s most significant brands and events, and more recently on Bright Communications projects including Discovery Rottnest Island and Writing WA’s Quantum Words writers festival.

Sam’s expertise includes brand communications strategy, community development, stakeholder and community engagement, media relations and publicity, interactive sponsorship management, internal relations and issues management.

Her experience spans health and lifestyle, not-for-profit and the community sector, travel and tourism, major events, FMCG, aviation, sport, property and infrastructure, mining and resources, hospitality and the arts. 

Sam is based in Perth and provides Bright Communications clients with innovative, creative thinking, engaging and practical strategy and implementation, and an established media and influencer network.

Rosie recently graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Behavioural Science, majoring in Marketing and Public Relations.

Since then, Rosie has hit the ground running managing an impressive portfolio of social media accounts in Perth and the south west, with experience working across hospitality, tourism, lifestyle, health & wellness and retail clients.

Based in Perth, Rosie assists Bright Communications with a variety of tasks across its portfolio, including social media curation, media release preparation and copywriting.
